Renu built the EcoPack 2 on a straightforward idea: a bag good enough to tour with shouldn't have to be cut from new material or stitched on the other side of the world. The body is ECOPAK, a Challenge Sailcloth fabric made from 100% recycled polyester fiber and film. It's waterproof and puncture resistant, which matters when a bag spends four hours in wet grass and gets dragged through a thorn line.

• 1680D recycled ballistic nylon at the base and every stress point, which is where bags actually fail.
• Recycled YKK zippers with reflective paracord pulls.

Made in Colorado

Thirty-one separately cut panels go into every EcoPack 2, sewn at a shop in Colorado. Renu's production costs tripled when they moved manufacturing from overseas to the United States, and the price didn't move with them. The bag lands in line with imported packs of the same capacity and below most American made ones, which is the point: recycled and domestic shouldn't be a premium tier.

Durability is the sustainability play here. A bag you keep is a bag nobody has to build again.
